Range Rover Evoque Car Tax UK
2026/27 VED Rates

Every Range Rover Evoque variant starts above the £40,000 expensive-car supplement threshold, so years 2 to 6 are £640 per year regardless of engine choice. The first-year rate is what swings dramatically: from £30 for the P300e plug-in hybrid (Band B) up to £1,095 for the P250 petrol (Band I). The P300e is the only VED-efficient option, and only in year 1.

JLR list prices vary by spec line (Evoque, Dynamic SE, Dynamic HSE, Autobiography) and option packages. Every spec line of every engine puts the Evoque over the £40,000 threshold, so the supplement is the default outcome.

The 6-year supplement math

The expensive-car supplement adds £440/year on top of the £200 standard rate for five years (vehicle years 2 to 6). Total supplement cost: 5 x £440 = £2,200.

For a new D200 diesel registered 1 May 2026:

  • - Year 1: £680 first-year rate
  • - Year 2-6: £640/year x 5 = £3,200
  • - Year 7 onwards: £200/year (supplement drops off)
  • - 6-year total: £680 + £3,200 = £3,880

Compare to the same engine in a hypothetical £39,900 vehicle that escapes the supplement: £680 + (5 x £200) = £1,680. The £40,000 line is a £2,200 lifetime VED penalty.
